Are You Living the Life You Want to Live?

It was 4:30 on a Friday afternoon and as I rode the elevator down to my office coming from my last meeting of the day I looked up at the mirrored ceiling at my tired eyes and asked myself, "Is this really the life that I wanted to live?" too tired to answer out loud I could feel a little conflict between my heart and my tired mind. On the one hand, I love the demands of Corporate but on the other hand I'm tempted to give it all away and move to an island far away. Exasperated I grabbed my briefcase/work bag and high tailed it to my car, before anyone could ask me another question or give me another task. Once in my car I reached for my cell phone and noticed that I had a message waiting for me; it was from my husband, what task did he have for me I wondered, did he need me to stop by the grocery store, or pick-up his dry cleaning? I listened to the message slightly disinterested and he simply said, "Babe, give me a call when you get this message." I called him back and he said, "I want you to come straight home I want to take you out tonight." I was anxious to know where he was taking me ut I was more in the mood for a surprise... two and a half hours later we were pulling up to Coco's Butter Cafe, for a little spoken word poetry, but the biggest surprise came not when my husband got on stage to perform one of his signature pieces, but when he performed a special piece which he dedicated to me. He began with, "He who finds a wife finds a good thing." With tears in my eyes and my spirit more at piece then at any other point o fthe day, I smiled to myself as I answered my own question... Yes, I am totally living the life I want to live. So now I ask you, are you living the life that you want to live?

Is it alright for Christians to listen to secular music?

So I am at the Blacks in Government Conference this week promoting First Fruits Publishing and No Greater Love and I was asked, if Emanuel and Jada (two characters from the book) are Christian then why are they listening to Luther Vandross... So my question is, "Is it alright for Christians to listen to secular music?"
